PET FOOD BANK
Not only is Heavenly Creatures making sure that the tummies of the animals we rescue are full while they are with us, but we also help animals owned by low-income people, too.
Heavenly Creatures believes that it is much better to help than to judge. We also believe that no animal should go hungry just because their owner is struggling financially!
Thus, since we got our first location in early 2002, we’ve been helping low-income pet owners with food for their furry companions.
Our Pet Food Bank users come from all different backgrounds, but they all have one thing in common: They love their pets.
Some are seniors whose only comfort is their pet and some are families which include children who would be devastated if they had to give up their pet for want of a little help.
FOOD BANK HOURS
If you are in between cheques, and need a helping paw to keep your pet fed in the short-term, you can drop by our office, 292 Lemarchant Road, St. John’s, on Wednesday afternoons from noon to four p.m. or on Saturday afternoons between noon and four p.m.
If it’s your first time, please bring a piece of ID, so that we can start a file for you.
If you can’t make these hours and are in desperate need of food, please leave us a message at 739-0077.
WANT TO HELP US KEEP FURRY TUMMIES FED?
We depend on donations to be able to feed needy animals!
We are always looking for donations of wet and dry cat food, wet dog food, dry cat and kitten food and unscented scoopable litter (we love Qualicat – the Costco brand of litter – but will gratefully accept any brand).
If you would like to make a donation of supplies to our Pet Food Bank, you can drop by our office on Wednesdays from 12-4 PM or 5-8 PM – we’re closed from 4-5 PM – or on Thursdays from 5-8 PM. We’re open on Saturdays from 12PM-4PM.
Can’t make it in person? You can still support us from home or wherever you are by purchasing an item from our Amazon Wishlist.
Alternatively, you can make a monetary donation by clicking on our donation link here.
